Spencer Hatton has spent nearly four decades working as a newspaper columnist, reporter and editor. His columns in the Yakima Herald-Republic have earned numerous state and regional awards along with national recognition from the Autism Society of America. His topics range from the uproarious to the deeply personal. He and his wife, Leslie, live in Yakima, Washington, with their cat, Sly. Their son, Andy, lives in Bellevue, Washington, with his wife, Leann, and their dog, Bear. He works as a speech language pathologist at the Kindering Center in Bellevue.
